Fake anime figures are the best in the world!
Here are 2 main reasons why you should own fake anime figures.
1. Fake anime figures are cheap!
Anime figurines, scale figures, Nendoroids, figma and many more figurines are EXPENSIVE.
All I want is to collect and display my favourite collectable figure. Who the hell can afford a $60-$300 figure every other month!? It is certainly not a good feeling to have one’s wallet to bleed like a waterfall.
Isn’t it easier to buy off replicates off online marketplaces like Aliexpress or Taobao where the figurines are so much cheaper?
Yes, you are right, it is cheaper.
One can find a knock-off online for 1/3 of its original price. Not even 1/3. You can expect 1/5 on certain occasions. This is so much easier on the wallet.
2. Bootleg figurines look like the original

It is no surprise that cheats are getting better at sculpting and detailing. They can make anime figurines that look pretty similar to the originals using cheaper materials and lower costs of productions(e.g lower staff wages, low-quality tools).
There are no stringent quality checks, so some costs are saved there as well.
You can put them side by side and even seasoned anime fans would not be able to tell the differences! If they cannot spot the differences, then it is still fine to show off my collection. There is nobody who can claim that the original MUST be better than the fakes. A fake can be equal or better than the originals.
The paint may be of lower quality but you are not going to touch them all the time. Collectors usually display them on some shelves or cabinets. All they do is to collect dust. Then, it is fine to just get the cheaper ones.
Before you comment on some parts of the article, I am being SARCASTIC. Certainly, fakes/bootlegs have their own merits but I DO NOT support them. DesuDesu Singapore gives back to the anime industry and the creators in the small ways that it can.
The act of doing business itself will support everyone down the product line in some way or another.

It is a never-ending dilemma to debate whether fakes/bootlegs anime figurines are justifiable. However, the old saying goes, “you get what you pay for”. You can check out various anime forums talking about fake anime figures and bootlegs here and there.
At the end of the day, you can get the same anime figurine to stand on your shelf or cabinet at a much lower cost. It is a fact that not everyone can afford expensive figurines. You should just buy whatever that is comfortable for your income, lifestyle, and preferences.
